Boudoir photography is an intimate and personal experience that can be empowering and confidence-boosting. However, one of the most common questions people have when considering a boudoir session is how much it will cost. In this article, we'll explore the factors that influence the cost of boudoir photography and give you an idea of what to expect in terms of pricing.

1. Experience and Skill of the Photographer(s)

The experience and skill of the photographer are one of the biggest factors that influence the cost of boudoir photography. Experienced and skilled photographers will charge more for their services because they know how to create stunning and unique images that capture the essence of their clients. I can’t tell you how many clients we’ve had come to us after going to a “budget friendly” photographer and telling us their self confidence was destroyed. You do NOT want a “budget friendly boudoir photographer.” Trust me on this. They can do more harm than good. If you want a good experience, budget for a high-end boudoir photographer! At Belle Allée, we offer payment plans on all of our sessions to let you break up the cost over months instead of paying all at once. So even if you think a high-end boudoir session is out of your budget, talk to your photographer and see what options they have!

2. Length of the Session

The length of the boudoir session can also affect the cost. Shorter sessions will generally be less expensive than longer ones. However, keep in mind that shorter sessions may not allow for as many outfit changes or setups, which can impact the final result. All of our sessions are based on our client specifically, and we don’t believe in time limits. You heard that right! All of our full sessions can last anywhere from 1-2+ hours depending on how many outfits we choose (p.s. we don't limit outfits either!!),

4. Number of Images/Products/Prints

The number of images or products you receive from the shoot will also influence the cost. Some photographers may offer a set number of images as part of a package, while others may charge per image or offer additional images for an extra fee. Trust me on this too - you want PRODUCTS from your session! Not just digitals! We hate the digital-photo-graveyard that seems to befall all digitals eventually. When you get products from your session, you have something to look back on, even when you're 80! Our luxury heirloom quality albums will last a lifetime and be something you can share with those Grandkids or great grand kids to show them just how hot Grandma was! (If you're okay sharing with them of course! My husbands Grandma has a huge nude print of herself in her 20s hanging above her bed and she'd displayed it proudly for many many years! Such a positive message about loving yourself and your body! Another popular product option our clients love is our metal wall art! It is truly life-changing to see a boudoir photo of yourself on your wall every single day, because you get a DAILY reminder of what a goddess you truly are!

5. Additional Services

Additional services such as hair and makeup, retouching, and album creation can all impact the cost of boudoir photography. These services can add up quickly, so make sure to discuss any additional fees with your photographer before booking your session. At Belle Allée, we include hair and makeup in all our sessions and don’t charge you extra for it, but “budget friendly” boudoir photographers usually make you pay for hair and makeup in addition to the cost of your session or don't even offer it.

In terms of pricing, boudoir photography packages typically range from $1,000 to $15,000, with the average cost falling somewhere in the middle. Most boudoir photographers also charge a separate “session fee” that ranges from $400-$1000. It's important to remember that the investment in boudoir photography is not just financial, but also personal and emotional. The images produced can be a reminder of your beauty, confidence, and empowerment, which is priceless!
